Day 2: Kuala Lumpur | Sightseeing tour

You'll start by visiting the National Monument - that has exhibits of local history, culture & traditions, and arts & crafts, a great bronze sculpture erected to commemorate the soldiers who gave up their lives in the triumph during World War II and the Emergency and will then make a quick stop at the Gate of the King's Palace for a photograph. From here, move on to visit the Moorish-style Railway Station building, the National Mosque - with Islamic calligraphy integrating Malay designs and Merdeka Square with the Tudor-style Royal Selangor Club in the background before finally arriving at the imposing Kuala Lumpur Tower - reputed to be the highest in Asia and the fourth tallest telecommunications tower in the world. A drive past the elegant Jamek Mosque, the impressive House of Parliament and the world's tallest twin towers, the Petronas Twin Towers has all the ingredients to hold the most avid of travelers in complete amazement. Day 4: Singapore | Night Safari

After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, board a coach to Singapore. Singapore is a model city, a city quite unlike any other in the world. It is dynamic, colourful and offers a harmonious blend of culture, cuisine, arts and architecture. Brimming with unbridled energy, this little South-East Asian dynamo embodies the finest of both the East as well as the West.
On arrival in Singapore, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, embark on safari quite unlike any other; ever seen, heard or experienced! It is Singapore's unique Night Safari, the world's first wildlife park built for visits at night. Luang Prabang and Wat Phu are both UNESCO World Heritage sites, with the Plain of Jars expected to join them once more work to clear UXO has been completed. The Lao National Tourism Administration, related government agencies and the private sector are working together to realise the vision put forth in the country's National Ecotourism Strategy and Action Plan. This includes decreasing the environmental and cultural impact of tourism; increasing awareness in the importance of ethnic groups and biological diversity; providing a source of income to conserve, sustain and manage the Lao protected area network and cultural heritage sites; and emphasising the need for tourism zoning and management plans for sites that will be developed as ecotourism destinations.
Laos is known for its silk and local handicraft product, both of which are on display in Luang Prabang's night market, among other places. Another speciality is mulberry tea. |
